A new pond dipping
If you remember happy idle hours pond dipping as a child you may like a fuller immersion as an adult: from Spring 2015 you could be dipping yourself into a giant pond – the first UK natural public swimming pool – in the new Kings Cross development in London. Originally conceived by Ooze Architects and Marjetica Potrc, the pool will be purified by a 180 sqm planted regeneration zone attracting insects and wildlife to habitats within planted edges of the pond. This chemical-free action ensures a refreshing swim where you can share the waters with wildlife, teeming insects, and bathe naturally. Forget the pond dipping nets and get eye-to-eye with a frog instead.
